Borana Lodge, Kenya

February 20, 2007

The facilities at Borana are first class. We stayed in huts with thatched roofs and picture windows. The roofs let in the breeze at night. The view out the windows or off the veranda (pictured above) were of a valley with a lake. Occasionally we saw elephants trek across. At night my wife asked if my cellphone was on, since she heard a low rhythmic rumbling like a vibration; I said no, that is a lion outside the window, purring.
